England Cricket Tour to Sri Lanka 2012
Forget watching the England v Sri Lanka test cricket matches on your sofa next March and April – get up close and personal with all the action with our specially designed England v Sri Lanka cricket tours which cater for every need and budget. As the England cricket team basks in the glory of being named the world’s number one test side, it couldn’t be a more exciting time to witness the team taking on Sri Lanka for a short two-match Test series. For any true cricket fan, this is an opportunity not to be missed – and with amazing food, drink, things to do, places to see and people to meet, Sri Lanka couldn’t be a better place to soak up the atmosphere.
Our tours take you to Galle or Colombo (or both!), with cricket supporter packages catering for those on a budget, and deluxe packages for those wanting a bit of luxury thrown in. Bed and breakfast is included, as are daily transfers to and from the stadiums and entry to the test each day. Most of your time will be well spent watching the cricket, but there are plentiful opportunities for exploring Galle or Colombo during the evening or on leisure times between transfers. Expect to find great shopping in Galle – particularly little gem shops. Look out for Lihiniya Gems in Hospital Street; authentic gems at great prices, and a great place for buying gifts for loved ones back home. The architecture is also a pull – the UNESCO world heritage site featuring the Dutch fortifications is really impressive, and a great place to sit and enjoy views of the ocean. And of course there are great beaches to enjoy too.
In Colombo, meanwhile, you’ll never be stuck for something to do. Enjoy a city tour aboard a double decker, eat delicious seafood on Mt Lavinia Beach or indulge in designer goodies at the sleek department stores and cool shopping malls. If it’s culture you’re after, the temples decorated with wonderful brass work, stone carvings and Buddhist art will provide fabulous photo opportunities, and the nearby elephant orphanage at Pinnawela is a heart-warming day out where you can bathe and feed the baby elephants with gigantic milk bottles.
In short, we can’t think of anywhere better to cheer your team to victory!
